The All-American Rejects When the World Comes Down DGC/Interscope/Doghouse
When the World Comes Down reprises the same formula that made the All-American Rejects’ last effort, Move Along, a commercial smash. Flanked by orchestral arrangements and slick production, these anthems swing for the fences with greedy glee, relying on gloss and studio polish for maximum hit potential. As a result, When the World Comes Down lacks substance in other crucial areas, particularly songwriting. Expect this skin-deep album to gain significant airplay, but don’t expect it to the gain your attention.

Keyshia Cole A Different Me Geffen
A Different Me is Keyshia Cole's most free-spirited and adventurous album to date, and it is not without its stretches where reach exceeds grasp, but there's a core of at least seven songs that rate as highly as the best from The Way It Is and Just Like You, and they're anything but reheated.

Fall Out Boy Folie à Deux Island
Fall Out Boy's Folie A Deux is an absurd, ambitious album, cluttered with superstar cameos, accidental allusions and big pop hooks. While the brittle digital production can make all this muchness a bit wearying, when Folie A Deux clicks it can be some hyper-modern fun.

Jamie Foxx Intuition J-Records
Intuition, Jamie Foxx's third album, is as star-studded as Unpredictable, its collection of collaborators and producers -- including Lil Wayne, T.I., the-Dream, T-Pain, and Ne-Yo -- making it appear more like a release from a singer in his twenties rather than early forties. That's the way most of the album plays out, with a pronounced slant toward upbeat material made for the clubs.

Anthony Hamilton The Point of It All Mister's Music/Jive/Zomba
Released almost exactly three years after Ain't Nobody Worryin', The Point of It All has a slightly lighter tone compared to that of its immediate predecessor and Comin' from Where I'm From. But just as Anthony Hamilton has been able to incorporate modern sounds that fit with his Southern soul throwback voice, the contrasting feel of this album comes through its subtleties.
