Vinyl LP pressing. 2021 release from the award-winning country music singer/songwriter. The songs on Soul were written and recorded during a 28-day period in the mountains of North Carolina. NOTE: this is a companion release to his Heart album.
Here is Sweep It Into Space, the fifth new studio album cut by Dinosaur Jr.. during the 13th year of their rebirth. Originally scheduled for issue in mid 2020, this record’s temporal trajectory was thwarted by the coming of the Plague. But it would take more than a mere Plague to tamp down the exquisite fury of this trio when they are fully dialed-in. And Sweep It Into Space is a masterpiece of zoned dialing. Recorded, as usual, at Amherst’s Biquiteen, the sessions for Sweep It Into Space began in the late Autumn of 2019, following a West Coast/South East tour. The only extra musician used this time with Kurt Vile. Indeed, Sweep It Into Space is a very cool album. As is typical, Lou Barlow writes and sings two of the album’s dozen tunes and Murph’s pure-Flinstonian drumming drives the record like a go cart from Hell. Lou’s songs here are as elegant as always. But there are very few moments where you wouldn’t know you were hearing Dinosaur Jr. In blindfolded needle drop. They have a signature sound as sure as the Stooges or Sonic Youth or Discharge ever did. They continue to expand their personal universe with Sweep It Into Space, without ever losing their central core.

Double vinyl LP pressing. Digitally remastered and expanded edition. Initially released in December 1967 and described latterly by Rolling Stone as ‘The Who’s finest album’, The Who Sell Out reflected a remarkable year in popular culture. As well as being forever immortalized as the moment when the counterculture and the ‘Love Generation’ became a global phenomenon and ‘pop’ began metamorphosing into ‘rock’.
DELUXE – PVC Sleeve Printed Text, 2x Colour Vinyl, 350gsm Wide Spined Sleeve on Uncoated/Reverse Board, 2x Inner Sleeves on Matt Machine Varnish, 16pg Booklet on Standard Paper, DL Sticker, LP Sticker. Lost Horizons is a collaboration between Simon Raymonde, former bassist of the Cocteau Twins, and drummer Richard Thomas, whose past resume includes Dif Juz and the Jesus and Mary Chain. Their haunting, low-key indie pop combines elements of dance-rock and Bowie-esque singer songwriter folk. In Quiet Moments features a distinguished cast of guest singers and a handful of supporting instrumentalists embellishing the core duo’s gorgeously free-flowing and loose-limbed blueprint. While the albbum has it’s pockets of loss, they are aligned to the concept of hope, and the end result is more about rebirth than death.
Reinventing The Steel … Yellow Vinyl
John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band was John’s first post-Beatles solo album so interest was high to see what he would do with his newfound creative freedom. The answer shocked the world. Gone was any florid instrumentation or psychedelia as on Sgt. Pepper’s or the kind of jaunty rock and abstract poetry of the band’s final album, Let It Be, and in its place were deeply emotional, profound, autobiographical songs about being abandoned by his mother and father, the loneliness of stardom, his dear Yoko and the end of the cultural revolution. Soundtracked by simple and sparse instrumentation and minimal yet majestic production, Lennon’s voice pierced listener’s hearts like never before as he revealed his true self. It marked his true birth as a solo artist. The album reached the top 10 in both the US and UK, despite the absence of a major hit single. 2LP gatefold edition includes a second LP of outtakes. All mastered at half-speed, pressed on 180gm vinyl, with a booklet and WAR IS OVER! poster. [2 LP]
FEATURES:
Half-Speed Mastered

Vinyl LP pressing. Nash’s magnificent new album, Topaz, is what happened when he found his answers. Nash recorded the album over the course of about a year in the Quonset hut studio he built about 600 feet from his house in the Texas Hill Country. While musician friends from nearby Austin contributed to the project, Topaz marks the first album Nash has recorded mostly on his own, both taking his time and relishing his newfound access to immediacy, punching the red button moments after an idea hit. “It’s allowed me to capture sounds and ideas, to really get stuff out of my head and into the world so quickly,” Nash says.
Limited 180gm transparent red vinyl LP pressing. Includes insert. Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin includes pop standards penned by America’s legendary songwriting duo George and Ira Gershwin. As Willie tells it: ‘Ira and George Gershwin were just fantastic writers. They wrote some of the greatest songs ever. The Gershwin songs have been here for many, many years. When I was just a small guy, I remember hearing all these great Gershwin songs and they’ll be around forever because great music like that just does not go away’. Among the 11 Gershwin classics recorded by Willie Nelson for the album are two duets: ‘Let’s Call The Whole Thing Off’ with Cyndi Lauper and ‘Embraceable You’ with Sheryl Crow. Summertime: Willie Nelson Sings Gershwin debuted at number one on the Traditional Jazz and Top Jazz Albums Billboard charts, becoming Nelson’s third album to top the latter. Meanwhile, it reached number fourteen in Top Album Sales and reached number forty in the Billboard 200.

Stylistically, it draws heavily on punk rock but also incorporates the influence of funk, dance music, reggae and dub. It’s lyrics and artwork reflected the band’s left-wing political concerns. It would be an influential release in the burgeoning post-punk movement.
